Organizational Goals (Short/Medium Term)

  • Short-Term Planning

Short-term planning analyzes the company’s current qualities and creates plans to enhance them. Examples include the employees’ attitudes and skill sets. Other immediate worries include the state of production equipment or issues with product quality.

  • Medium-Term Planning

Planning for the medium term involves applying longer-term fixes to pressing issues. Companies plan training programs for the medium term if staff training sessions resolved issues in the short term. The company’s quality control program needs to be strengthened and revised if there are quality problems.

Repairing the machine is a short-term solution for equipment failure; setting up a service contract is a longer-term fix. To prevent the recurrence of short-term issues, policies and procedures are put into place through medium-term planning.
