What is Ergonomics?
- Ergonomics is a study that deals with analyzing people to see if their work is fit for them and their work environment. In operations, ergonomics involves considering the physical well-being of the employees and fitting jobs to the abilities of the workforce—removing performance barriers, increasing work quality, and enhancing work productivity (“Ergonomics”‘, 2022).
- Furthermore, ergonomics is an approach to allow a steady improvement in the organization—it takes a while to fully implement in the workplace. Ergonomics is necessary in operations management since the effectiveness of a business is dependent on its workers—organizations must always consider the well-being of their employees (“Ergonomics”‘, 2022).
